Senior Tax Manager

About the role

HSBC Mexico is looking for a Senior Tax Manager to own end‑to‑end tax compliance and IFRS tax reporting. The role ensures strong governance, drives automation, and partners with the business and Head of Tax on strategic initiatives and complex tax matters.

Key responsibilities

• Lead agile tax compliance for all Mexican legal entities, covering ISR, VAT, SIPRED, ISSIF, IMMEX and informative returns.
• Prepare and forecast current and deferred taxes for IFRS reporting, capital planning, stress testing and profit sharing.
• Design and maintain a SOX‑compliant governance framework, identify uncertain tax positions and mitigate tax risks.
• Drive efficiency and automation in tax processes, promoting continuous improvement and standardisation.
• Provide expert tax advisory across functions and support strategic projects such as M&A, restructuring and entity rationalisation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or Economics (required); Master’s in Taxes or Finance (preferred).
• 10+ years of tax compliance and reporting experience, preferably in a multinational or financial institution.
• Previous experience at a Big Four firm is a plus.
• Fluent written and verbal communication in English and Spanish.
