Senior Tax Specialist – LACAR Region

About the role

Alcon is seeking a Senior Tax Specialist for the LACAR region to lead tax reporting, compliance and risk management. Based in Mexico City with a hybrid work model, you will support the company’s global tax strategy while ensuring adherence to local and international regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the preparation and review of the tax reporting package in line with Alcon’s Manual of Accounting (IFRS) and global tax requirements.
• Oversee all tax compliance matters, including corporate income tax, indirect taxes, withholding taxes, stamp duties, capital gains taxes and transfer pricing.
• Manage tax account reconciliations and ensure accurate tax accounting and reporting.
• Identify, monitor and mitigate tax risks, maintaining documentation for SOX certification and other compliance controls.
• Serve as the main point of contact for internal departments and external tax advisors, handling queries, deadlines and audit support.
• Coordinate responses to tax authorities and support internal and external audits.

Required profile

• Undergraduate degree in Accounting or Finance; Master’s or advanced degree in Tax or Accounting preferred.
• 5+ years of tax experience, with at least 3 years in a tax department of a multinational corporation.
• Strong background in tax compliance, tax accounting and tax reporting.
• Experience in the medical or pharmaceutical industry is a plus.
