Site Reliability Engineer

About the role

Levi Strauss & Co. is looking for a curious and driven Site Reliability Engineer to join its Data & AI Platform Engineering team in Mexico City. You will help keep the data and AI platforms that power global retail decisions running reliably, efficiently, and securely on Google Cloud Platform.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor production systems with observability tooling (dashboards, alerts, logs) to detect and triage issues before they impact users.
• Participate in on‑call rotations, follow runbooks during incidents, and contribute to blameless post‑mortems.
• Identify repetitive manual tasks and build automation to reduce operational toil.
• Write and maintain scripts, tooling, and CI/CD pipeline components that improve deployment reliability.
• Operate and maintain workloads on GCP (GKE, Cloud Run, BigQuery, Pub/Sub, GCS, Composer) and support multi‑cloud awareness with Azure.
• Apply Infrastructure‑as‑Code practices using Terraform and Helm, ensuring consistent and secure infrastructure changes.
• Adhere to data security and governance policies, including IAM best practices, secrets management, encryption, and audit logging.
• Collaborate with Data Engineering, AI Platform, and Software Engineering teams to embed reliability from design through deployment.

Required profile

• Strong interest in reliability engineering and incident response.
• Experience working with cloud platforms, preferably GCP and Azure.
• Ability to write clear runbooks, post‑mortems, and documentation.
• Proactive mindset for identifying and automating repetitive tasks.
