SOC Analyst – Cybersecurity Operations

About the role

Join HSBC's Global Service Center as a SOC Analyst within the Cybersecurity Global Defence function. You will work in a fast‑paced environment monitoring HSBC’s worldwide network estate, detecting and responding to cyber threats while supporting the broader Global Cybersecurity Operations team.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor multiple HSBC networks simultaneously using advanced threat detection technologies.
• Log and triage potentially malicious events, determining severity and criticality.
• Respond to alerts from monitoring platforms within defined SLAs, escalating when necessary.
• Analyze network traffic and security appliance health, performing basic troubleshooting.
• Investigate malicious artefacts to generate threat intelligence and improve services.
• Support incidents through eradication, capture lessons learned, and contribute to enhanced cyber resilience.
• Identify and propose ideas to enhance detection capabilities.

Required profile

• Experienced professional with a background in security operations or related cybersecurity roles.
• Ability to follow detailed processes and procedures for incident analysis and escalation.
• Strong analytical mindset to assess alerts and determine impact.
• Capacity to work collaboratively with senior analysts and other cybersecurity teams.
