Software Engineer – Autonomous Vehicles

About the role
Lyft’s Autonomous Vehicle (AV) team builds the software that powers self‑driving cars, connecting riders with safe, reliable transportation. As a Software Engineer you will work on integrations, system design, and product trade‑offs while collaborating with cross‑functional partners.
Key responsibilities
- Define roadmap and architecture based on technology trends and customer needs.
- Write well‑crafted, well‑tested, maintainable code.
- Participate in code reviews and share knowledge through brown‑bag sessions and tech talks.
- Lead large‑scale projects from concept to execution.
- Unblock and support internal partners to achieve results.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- Experience building distributed systems and working with relational or NoSQL databases.
- Ability to produce clear design documentation.

- Python (preferred)
- Golang (preferred)
- Distributed systems
- Relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL)
- NoSQL databases (e.g., Cassandra, DynamoDB)
