Software Engineer, Backend Node.js / TypeScript

About the role

We are seeking a Backend Software Engineer to develop, maintain, and support large-scale community product applications. The role focuses on building backend features with TypeScript and Node.js, ensuring reliability, scalability, and production readiness.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Node.js, TypeScript, MongoDB, and Redis.
• Create RESTful and/or GraphQL APIs.
• Support sprint-scoped work from development through merge and production deployment.
• Troubleshoot production deployment issues and CI/CD pipelines.
• Provide production bug fixes, performance improvements, and incident response.
• Identify and remediate performance and scalability bottlenecks.
• Collaborate with frontend engineers, product partners, and stakeholders on end-to-end feature delivery.
• Maintain existing functionality while contributing to new roadmap initiatives.

Required profile

• Strong experience with Node.js and TypeScript.
• Hands-on experience with MongoDB and Redis.
• Proficiency in designing and implementing RESTful or GraphQL APIs.
• Experience with production CI/CD workflows, preferably GitLab CI.
• Ability to troubleshoot deployments and support containerized environments.
• Background in backend production support, including bug resolution and performance tuning.
• Collaborative mindset to work with frontend engineers and product teams.
