Solution Architect

About the role

EPAM is seeking a Solution Architect to design scalable, secure software solutions for clients in Financial Services, Insurance and Retail. You will work with product managers, business analysts and engineering leads to translate business needs into technical blueprints and guide delivery teams.

Key responsibilities

• Design robust, scalable and secure end‑to‑end architectures across backend services, front‑end layers, databases, integrations and cloud infrastructure.
• Run proofs‑of‑concept, evaluate third‑party tools, APIs and frameworks, and make data‑driven technology‑stack decisions.
• Define architectural standards, reusable design patterns and coding guidelines.
• Provide technical governance and guide development teams to ensure alignment with the agreed architecture.
• Collaborate with product owners to convert business requirements into clear technical blueprints.
• Communicate complex architectural concepts to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
• Ensure designs meet non‑functional requirements such as security, high availability, disaster recovery, performance and cost efficiency.

Required profile

• 2+ years of hands‑on experience as a Solution Architect, Technical Lead or Principal Engineer designing complex, distributed enterprise systems.
• Strong understanding of modern architectural patterns including microservices, event‑driven and serverless designs.
• Deep knowledge of APIs and cloud‑native architectures.
• Practical experience with major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure or GCP) and modern infrastructure practices such as containers, Kubernetes and database design.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and leadership abilities.
• Analytical and troubleshooting skills with a focus on balancing short‑term delivery and long‑term strategy.
• English proficiency at B2 level or higher.
