Strategic Sourcing & Category Management Specialist

About the role

FedEx Express is seeking a Strategic Sourcing & Category Management Specialist to lead the development and execution of category strategies for multi‑million‑USD spend across its global procurement portfolio. The role will combine market intelligence, supplier benchmarking and advanced sourcing methodologies to drive cost savings, innovation and risk mitigation.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement category strategies for global and regional procurement spend.
• Conduct market research, supplier benchmarking and industry analysis to uncover sourcing opportunities.
• Apply Total Cost of Ownership, should‑cost analysis, clean‑sheet models and value‑optimization techniques.
• Manage end‑to‑end strategic sourcing projects, including RFx creation, supplier evaluation, competitive bidding, negotiation, contract management and performance governance.
• Identify and deliver cost‑saving initiatives, process improvements and supplier innovation while ensuring compliance and business continuity.
• Build and maintain strategic supplier relationships to enhance performance and long‑term value.
• Partner with Finance, Operations, Legal, Supply Chain and Business Leaders to align procurement strategies with corporate objectives.

Required profile

• Proven experience in strategic sourcing or category management within a global or multinational organization.
• Advanced English communication skills (C1/C2) and strong stakeholder‑management capabilities.
• Demonstrated ability to present sourcing strategies, business cases and cost‑optimization initiatives to senior leadership.
• Analytical mindset with a focus on data‑driven decision making.
