Structural & Systems Installation Design Engineer

About the role

Bombardier is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to lead structural and systems installation design for its multi‑platform aircraft programs. The role involves creating detailed CATIA V5 models, producing installation drawings, and supporting production across several sites.

Key responsibilities

• Perform mechanical design using CATIA V5 and generate detail and installation drawings for assigned work packages.
• Interpret aerospace technical specifications and develop solutions that meet design requirements.
• Support production operations on Challenger 350/650 and Global 5500/6500/7500 programs.
• Diagnose and resolve airframe and systems issues, providing technical support to assembly lines in Querétaro, Dorval, and Toronto.
• Collaborate with Stress, Materials, Systems, Flight Science, Quality, and Operations teams to meet business objectives.
• Participate in productivity, waste‑reduction, and financial‑performance improvement projects.
• Manage project schedules and budgets while coordinating with internal and external suppliers.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum five years of experience in aircraft structure or systems installation design.
• Strong sense of responsibility, practical judgment, and flexibility.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and work under pressure to meet design deadlines.

Required skills

• CATIA V5 design and modeling.
• Mechanical design of machined and sheet‑metal parts.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
