Supplier Development Engineer – Quality & Procurement

About the role

Yanfeng Seating is seeking a Supplier Development Engineer to drive quality, cost, and technology improvements across its supplier base in the region. You will work closely with cross‑functional teams, subsidiaries, and key suppliers to ensure compliance with automotive standards and enhance overall supplier performance.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct cross‑functional reviews of new and existing suppliers according to procurement strategy.
• Organise and execute monthly supplier evaluations, maintaining accurate supplier data.
• Develop and deliver supplier training programs and share best practices with subsidiaries.
• Lead capacity‑improvement projects for key suppliers, focusing on quality, cost, technology and service.
• Support subsidiaries in tracking and resolving major supplier quality issues.
• Promote implementation of IATF 16949, ISO 2400 and ISO 145001 requirements.
• Summarise lessons learned, optimise processes and mentor team members.
• Manage procurement documentation and ensure alignment with quality, safety and environmental standards.
• Coordinate with NA/EU supplier development teams for audits and capability improvement.

Required profile

• Engineering degree.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in supplier development or related quality roles.
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills.

Required skills

• Knowledge of IATF 16949.
• Familiarity with ISO 2400.
• Understanding of ISO 145001.
