Systems Requirements Engineer - Infotainment (MED)

About the role

ALTEN Mexico, a subsidiary of the ALTEN Group, is hiring an intermediate Systems Requirements Engineer for its infotainment subsystem in Querétaro. The engineer acts as the key liaison between Design & Release Engineers and System Architects, turning technical and regulatory needs into clear, actionable requirements for the design, development, validation and release of vehicle electrical and electronic components.

Key responsibilities

• Define and maintain technical requirements for the infotainment subsystem (and Cabin Thermal & Safety where applicable) across production phases, eliciting them through stakeholder interviews and workshops
• Analyze system requirements and collaborate on the design and development of infotainment hardware and software, supporting system modeling and architecture
• Link Design & Release Engineers and System Architects and work cross-functionally with multidisciplinary teams on hardware-software integration
• Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware and software failures, and track workflows, tasks and issues
• Validate system functionality through testing and perform DFMEA to identify and mitigate design risks
• Create and maintain technical documentation, including specifications and reports

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or engineering degree in a related field (Mechatronics, Electronics, Computer Systems, Software, Telecommunications)
• Intermediate level of experience (3-5 years) in requirements definition, management and elicitation, and in SDLC, diagnostics and troubleshooting
• Basic to intermediate knowledge of DFMEA, DFSS, CATIA V5, vehicle safety regulations and vehicle communication protocols (CAN, LIN)
• Intermediate knowledge of Apple CarPlay / Android Auto integration or validation

Required skills

• Requirements management with IBM DOORS (3-5 years)
• Workflow control with IBM Engineering Workflow Management (RTC) (2-3 years)
• Issue tracking with JIRA (2-3 years)
• Programming languages Python and C/C++ (basic, 1-3 years)
