Tax Manager

About the role

The Tax Manager will establish governance and controls over corporate tax reporting and compliance for the bank. This role defines service level agreements with internal data providers, leads automation initiatives, and supports senior tax leadership on strategic projects.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain tax governance framework and SLAs with data‑providing functions.
• Lead initiatives to improve and automate tax compliance processes.
• Prepare and submit VAT, informative returns and other statutory tax filings.
• Execute VAT optimisation and control activities.
• Conduct tax compliance reviews, including withheld taxes, current and deferred tax calculations.
• Provide daily tax advisory to business functions and support tax team members.
• Analyse deferred tax, current tax and effective tax rate for local and IFRS reporting.
• Assist the Deputy Tax Director and Head of Tax on mergers, restructures and special projects.
• Manage external auditor requirements and prepare documentation for regulator tax audits.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration.
• 5+ years experience in corporate tax reporting, deferred tax under IFRS and tax compliance, preferably in financial institutions or Big‑Four firms.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to high‑quality work.
• Analytical thinking with the ability to understand complex tax documentation.
• Leadership capability and ability to work under pressure on multiple priorities.
• Basic English proficiency (reading and writing) and proactive, organized work style.

Required skills

• Excel (basic to intermediate, pivot tables, formulas).
• Data analysis tools.
• Familiarity with tax reporting and audit documentation requirements.
• Knowledge of IFRS tax principles.
