Tax Manager

About the role

Huawei is seeking an experienced Tax Manager to lead its tax risk management, controversy handling, and planning initiatives across Mexico. The role serves as the primary liaison with tax authorities and external advisors, ensuring compliance while supporting business objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute tax controversy strategies, including managing audits, information requests, and internal reviews.
• Prepare, review, and submit responses to tax authorities, handling administrative appeals and related procedures.
• Build and maintain effective relationships with tax authorities, external advisors, and internal stakeholders.
• Assess tax risks and provide technical guidance on corporate income tax, VAT, and other applicable taxes.
• Oversee tax refund processes and ensure timely responses to authority inquiries.
• Monitor legislative changes and evaluate their impact on the organization.
• Provide tax advisory support for new initiatives, transactions, and operational matters.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Taxation, Accounting, Law, Finance or a related field.
• Extensive experience in corporate taxation or public tax consulting with increasing responsibility.
• Proven track record managing tax audits, controversy matters, and interactions with tax authorities.
• Experience supporting multinational organizations or professional services firms is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of the Mexican tax framework, including Federal Tax Code, Income Tax Law, and VAT Law.

• Expertise in tax controversy mechanisms, including appeals and litigation.
