About the role

International Paper is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to service and maintain carton box assembling machines at its facilities in the Valle Agricola area of Empalme and Guaymas, Mexico. The role involves ensuring continuous operation of a variety of equipment, from conveyors to automated gluing stations.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on box‑forming machines, compressors, and conveyor systems.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical faults.
• Maintain and calibrate sensors, electromechanical valves, and variable‑frequency drives.
• Operate workshop tools such as cutters, grinders, drills, welders and polishers.
• Program and troubleshoot PLCs (Allen Bradley, Festo) used in the production line.
• Operate forklifts for material handling and equipment relocation.

Required profile

• Technical degree in Electricity, Electromechanics or a related field.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to work in a team, make decisions under pressure and maintain a safety‑first attitude.

Required skills

• Electrical control knowledge (24 V, 110 V, 220 V).
• Experience with electric motors, variable frequency drives and sensors.
• Pneumatic control, solenoid valves and industrial mechanics.
• Fault detection for electrical and pneumatic systems.
• Proficiency with manual tools and electrical/mechanical measurement equipment.
• Use of workshop equipment: cutter, grinder, drill, welder, polisher.
• PLC programming (Allen Bradley, Festo).
• Forklift operation.
