About the role

ShanghaiTech University’s School of Information Science and Technology is building its core founding team and invites highly qualified scholars to join as tenure‑track or tenured faculty in information and mathematical sciences. The positions span a broad range of research areas and include responsibilities for both graduate and undergraduate education.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and lead independent research programs in cutting‑edge topics such as artificial intelligence, data science, computational mathematics, and theoretical computer science.
• Teach undergraduate and graduate courses, supervise theses, and mentor students.
• Secure external research funding and publish in top‑tier journals and conferences.
• Contribute to departmental service, curriculum development, and community outreach.

Required profile

• Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, or a closely related field.
• Minimum of four years of post‑doctoral or equivalent research experience with a strong publication record.
• Demonstrated potential to become an internationally recognized researcher.
• Fluency in English; overseas academic training is a plus.
