Test Engineer – Vehicle Controls

About the role

The Test Engineer will execute product testing, acquire data, and report performance for low‑voltage vehicle control products. Working closely with internal product teams, you will lead validation testing and support new product launches.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and run design verification test plans (DVP&R, PVP&R) for switches, keypads, rotary encoders, and other commercial vehicle electrical products.
• Conduct functional, environmental, EMC/EMI, vibration, and shipping tests to confirm conformance with standards and customer requirements.
• Define test specifications, procure and build test fixtures, and ensure proper calibration of equipment.
• Collaborate with design engineering, software, and hardware teams to resolve test‑related issues.
• Lead lab technicians in test setup, execution, and reporting, and sign‑off on test setups before testing begins.
• Analyze test data, produce detailed test reports, and support continuous‑improvement initiatives such as Cost Out, Lean events, and VA/VE.
• Maintain a safe work environment and promote the organization’s mission and values.

Required profile

• Experience in product testing and validation for low‑voltage vehicle control systems.
• Ability to work with cross‑functional global teams and manage test projects from concept to launch.
• Strong problem‑solving skills using methods like 8D, Fishbone, and 5 Why.
