Trade Marketing Specialist

About the role

Despegar is looking for a sales‑driven Trade Marketing Specialist to lead and expand strategic partnerships with Destination Marketing Organizations and Tourism Boards across North America and Latin America. The role sits at the intersection of strategic partnerships, digital media, and destination marketing, requiring a consultative approach to translate advertising solutions into measurable business results.

Key responsibilities

• Drive media revenue by applying a consultative sales methodology to DMO and tourism board accounts.
• Act as a trusted advisor, conducting regular commercial reviews, maximizing contract value, and identifying upsell and cross‑sell opportunities.
• Design and execute co‑marketing, barter, and promotional campaigns that increase partner ROI and deepen platform integration.
• Lead the full sales cycle—from outreach and discovery to proposal design, contract negotiation, and executive‑level closure.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure seamless delivery of solutions and long‑term commercial growth.

Required profile

• Proven experience in sales or trade marketing within the travel, tourism or related sectors.
• Strong ability to build and maintain relationships with senior stakeholders.
• Self‑motivated, results‑oriented, and comfortable working autonomously.
• Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish.
