Urban Designer - Mid Level

About the role

Gensler is seeking a Mid‑Level Urban Designer to lead creative and innovative design concepts across a variety of urban and architectural projects. You will work from feasibility studies through detailed planning, shaping vibrant places that enrich communities and support client success.

Key responsibilities

• Lead conceptual design for master‑planning and urban‑design projects, guiding them from feasibility to detailed planning.
• Collaborate across mixed‑use, commercial, residential, hospitality and education sectors within multidisciplinary teams.
• Illustrate and present design solutions through free‑hand sketching and computer‑aided design.
• Evaluate economic, social, regulatory and physical factors influencing planning decisions.
• Liaise with clients, government agencies and project stakeholders, ensuring clear communication.
• Work closely with directors and project teams to deliver high‑quality master‑planning projects on time and within budget.
• Foster collaboration across disciplines to inspire innovation and design experimentation.

Required profile

• College degree in Architecture (Master’s preferred) with at least 6 years of relevant experience.
• Trained architect and experienced master planner with strong design talent.
• Thorough understanding of international planning standards.
• Excellent verbal, written and graphic communication skills, including free‑hand sketching.
• Proactive, responsible team player with a passion for innovative design.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Rhino, Grasshopper, Sketch‑up, VRay and Adobe Suite.
