Visual/Graphic Designer

About the role

The Visual/Graphic Designer will bring strong creative vision and technical execution to a variety of design and multimedia projects across web, mobile, social media, and print. This role supports the Open Society Foundations' mission to advance justice, equity, and human rights through compelling visual storytelling.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deliver creative assets for websites, social media, print, data visualizations, video narratives, and interactive applications.
• Lead visual design and front‑end execution of digital storytelling projects, including microsites, data tools, motion graphics, and animations.
• Collaborate with developers, writers, and campaigners to produce wireframes, mock‑ups, storyboards, and prototypes.
• Maintain and evolve the organization’s visual identity, guidelines, style libraries, and design systems.
• Source, edit, and produce photography and video content to support campaign goals.
• Review and guide work from contractors, consultants, and agency partners to ensure visual and strategic alignment.

Required profile

• Substantial experience in visual design with a portfolio that includes static and interactive work.
• Strong proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, and motion/video tools such as After Effects or Premiere.
• Experience designing for web and mobile platforms and a basic understanding of HTML/CSS and responsive design.
• Knowledge of UX/UI principles and experience collaborating on data‑driven products.
