Well Engineer II – Oil & Gas Operations

About the role

Halliburton is seeking an experienced Well Engineer II to join its operations team in Reforma, Chiapas. The role focuses on implementing engineering processes for well proposals, design, and execution while ensuring technical integrity and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Implement processes for proposals, Basis of Design, and operation programs related to well engineering and intervention.
• Oversee creation, approval, and cost control of Authorization for Expenditure (AFE) documents.
• Conduct risk assessments, ensure safe and environmentally compliant operations, and forecast medium‑ and long‑term program needs.
• Coordinate daily morning meetings, adjust plans to operational changes, and evaluate performance against targets.
• Prepare equipment lists, identify long‑lead items, and drive engineering studies to solve recurring issues.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum, Mechanical, Chemical, or related engineering discipline.
• Minimum 6 years of experience in drilling operations and well design for exploratory and development wells.
• Hands‑on supervision experience with critical operations such as casing and liner cementing, perforating runs, DST testing, and well completions.
• Advanced proficiency in English.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Compass, StressCheck, CasingSeat, and WellPlan software.
• Knowledge of HP/HT wells, casing integrity testing, torque and drag analysis.
• Experience preparing technical proposals and generating AFEs.
