Accountant I

About the role

With minimal supervision, the Accountant I will support a range of intermediate accounting activities across multiple entities. The role involves month‑end journal entries, sub‑ledger reconciliations and maintaining detailed balance‑sheet reconciliations while working closely with internal and external partners.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and post month‑end journal entries and general ledger adjustments.
• Perform monthly, quarterly and annual closing activities and intercompany transaction recordings.
• Maintain detailed reconciliations of balance‑sheet accounts and resolve discrepancies with other departments.
• Document audit trails, support internal and external auditors, and ensure compliance with GAAP.
• Conduct variance analysis and prepare analytics for SG&A expenses.
• Assist with ad‑hoc accounting projects and process improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.
• 0‑2 years of accounting or finance experience; credit‑card processing experience a plus.
• Knowledge of GAAP and strong analytical, organizational and problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and work effectively with cross‑functional teams.

Required skills

• GAAP knowledge.
• Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, etc.).
• Microsoft Office suite.
• Familiarity with accounting systems; Microsoft Dynamics AX a plus.
