Application Engineer

About the role

Autoliv is seeking an Application Engineer to lead the design, testing, and release of production seatbelt systems. You will act as the primary technical liaison between customers and internal teams, ensuring product development aligns with both internal standards and customer expectations.

Key responsibilities

• Design, test, and release seatbelt system designs following Autoliv’s design change process.
• Manage customer relationships throughout product development and implementation.
• Release internal, assembly, and customer component drawings.
• Generate and maintain engineering documentation such as DFMEAs, DV/PV test reports, and other product development records.
• Coordinate projects from design through production startup, including prototype builds and specification establishment.
• Conduct VA/VE analyses, benchmarking, and create/run DV/PV test series to meet internal and customer requirements.
• Analyze test data, summarize results, and prepare presentations for stakeholders.

Required profile

• 2–5 years of experience in the automotive industry.
• Mechanical Engineering or related degree.
• Strong problem‑solving abilities and hands‑on approach to development, testing, and sample builds.
• Proficiency in English at a minimum B2 level.

• CATIA (design tool).
• Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Statistical Process Control (SPC).
• 8D problem‑solving methodology.
• Root Cause Analysis (RCA) expertise.
• DFMEA creation and analysis.
• DV/PV testing and reporting.
