AS400 Trainer – IBM i Systems Instructor

About the role

We are seeking an experienced AS400 Trainer to deliver comprehensive training on IBM i (AS400) technologies. The role involves designing curriculum, leading classroom or virtual sessions, and supporting learners from fresh graduates to seasoned professionals.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct training on RPG, CL, DB2, SQL and core IBM i concepts.
• Develop and continuously update training materials, presentations and hands‑on exercises.
• Deliver sessions both in‑person and online for entry‑level and experienced candidates.
• Assess trainee performance through assignments, quizzes and practical assessments.
• Provide technical guidance and on‑the‑job support during labs.
• Stay current with the latest developments in the AS400/IBM i platform.

Required profile

• 3–8 years of experience in AS400 development or support.
• Prior experience delivering technical training or mentoring.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT or a related field.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of the AS400 / IBM i platform.
• Hands‑on expertise in RPGLE and CL programming.
• Experience with DB2 and SQL.
• Understanding of system operations and job scheduling.
• Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
