Assistant Accountant

About the role

The Assistant Accountant will support daily accounting operations, handling both accounts receivable and payable activities for various business units. The role involves generating financial reports, analysing key profit‑and‑loss lines, and ensuring accurate invoicing and payment processing.

Key responsibilities

• Download and analyse actuals, forecasts and budget reports.
• Create invoices and electronic payment receipts for clients such as Coppel and Liverpool.
• Track accounts receivable, deductions and customer balances for each side business.
• Prepare regular financial results for HK and China, including analysis and commentary.
• Generate invoices in Ariba and assist internal users with accounts payable reports.
• Reclassify LATAM travel expenses to the headquarters entity and book local NSO expenses at month‑end.
• Reconcile rent payment queries and update the stores database (contracts, rents, square meters, etc.).
• Support month‑end activities such as accruals, manual payment reporting and expense reporting (marketing, maintenance, travel, corporate credit cards, etc.).

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 1‑2 years of experience in accounting or finance.
• Exposure to general‑ledger systems, preferably in a large multinational environment.
• Fluent English and high sense of responsibility.
• Ability to work across accounting, tax, AP and AR functions.
• Strong analytical skills with great attention to detail and deadlines.

Required skills

• Proficiency with MS Office Suite (including Excel).
• Outlook for email and calendar management.
• Experience using Ariba for invoicing.
• Familiarity with general‑ledger accounting systems.
