Assistant General Manager

About the role

The Assistant General Manager (AGM) supports the General Manager in delivering an exceptional guest experience while learning key operational skills such as sales growth, cost of goods management, labor investment, and guest satisfaction. The AGM steps in to perform all GM duties when the GM is absent.

Key responsibilities

• Support the GM by teaching, coaching, and leading the restaurant team.
• Oversee all restaurant areas in the GM’s absence, ensuring smooth operations.
• Directly train employees and maintain high standards of food quality and service.
• Control costs through portion control, waste reduction, and yield maximization.
• Investigate and resolve guest complaints related to food quality and service.
• Manage sanitary practices for food handling, kitchen and dining cleanliness, and compliance with health regulations.
• Supervise alcoholic beverage regulations and ensure proper inventory, invoicing, and daily sales reporting.

Required profile

• Excellent communication skills, both delivering clear information and active listening.
• Ability to delegate tasks confidently and resolve conflicts with guests or team members.
• Strong accountability for self and team, fostering a clean, safe, and organized environment.
• Capability to perform all positions within the restaurant as needed.

Required skills

• ServSafe certification.
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
• Experience with inventory management, cost control, and portion control.
• Understanding of alcoholic beverage regulations.
