Associate I, Accounting & Reporting

About the role

Alcon is seeking an Associate I to join its Global Finance Organization in Mexico City. This hybrid position supports accurate financial record‑keeping, accounting operations, and the preparation of key financial reports.

Key responsibilities

• Calculate, post, and verify accounting transactions in line with company policies and accounting standards.
• Perform account reconciliations, investigate discrepancies, and support balance‑sheet and P&L reviews.
• Assist with month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end close activities, including journal entry preparation and financial reporting.
• Prepare accounting schedules, management reports, and supporting documentation for internal and external reporting.
• Collaborate with finance partners and business units to improve processes, support audits, and drive continuous‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a related field.
• At least 2 years of experience in accounting, financial reporting, audit or shared‑services environments.
• Strong understanding of general accounting principles, financial statements, reconciliations and month‑end close processes.
• Proactive mindset with attention to detail and ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment.

Required skills

• Experience with ERP systems, preferably SAP.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
