Business Development Product Specialist (BDM)

About the role

The Business Development Product Specialist (BDM) supports HSBC Premier & Advance relationship managers by providing deep product expertise across wealth‑management solutions. Acting as a technical advisor, the BDM helps clients with complex needs, enhances the client experience, and contributes to the bank’s strategic objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with Premier Relationship Managers to identify client needs and recommend suitable wealth solutions.
• Deliver product training, support new product launches, and lead client education events.
• Conduct portfolio reviews, assess product suitability, and monitor regulatory or market changes.
• Accompany RMs on client meetings (3‑5 per day) to provide technical input and act as a second point of contact for specific products.
• Assist in closing sales by preparing technical analyses and presenting solutions to clients.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of wealth‑management client segments such as Premier & Advance, W, PCS, and PE.
• Ability to build trust with clients and support relationship managers in deepening engagements.
• Excellent communication skills to explain product value, risks, and market insights.

Required skills

• Knowledge of structured products, foreign exchange (FX), investment solutions, financial planning, retirement, protection, and mortgage products.
