Commercial Counsel – Legal Center of Efficiency

About the role

GE Vernova is launching a Legal Center of Efficiency and needs a founding Commercial Counsel to design, build, and operate the model. Reporting to the Chief Corporate Counsel, you will combine hands‑on legal work with the creation of scalable processes for high‑volume agreements.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review, negotiate and provide legal sign‑off on mutual and one‑way NDAs, including escalated and non‑standard terms.
• Define risk positions, fallback language, and approval thresholds for standard and non‑standard terms.
• Serve as the designated legal reviewer and escalation point within the support model.
• Advise senior counsel on emerging risk trends and recommend updates to templates and thresholds.
• Partner with Legal Operations to design NDA intake, triage, and escalation processes, and contribute to playbooks, RACI matrices, and training materials.
• Support business adoption by delivering clear, business‑friendly legal guidance and participating in KPI reporting and governance.

Required profile

• Law degree with solid experience in commercial contracts, especially NDAs.
• Demonstrated ability to create and implement scalable legal processes.
• Strong judgment on risk and the capacity to advise senior legal leadership.
• Experience collaborating with legal operations and cross‑functional business teams.
