Commercial Transactional Lawyer

About the role

This remote position is for a Commercial Transactional Lawyer based in Mexico, supporting an international organization. You will provide strategic legal advice for complex commercial operations, ensuring contracts align with business goals while managing risk.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review and negotiate a wide variety of commercial agreements, including supplier, service, licensing, distribution, partnership, NDA and joint venture contracts.
• Provide strategic guidance on commercial risks, contractual obligations and compliance with Australian laws and regulations.
• Support corporate transactions such as mergers, acquisitions and reorganisations through legal due diligence and documentation preparation.
• Analyse business strategies from a legal perspective and deliver practical recommendations.
• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of changes in commercial legislation, regulations and contract law.
• Independently manage legal matters while ensuring accuracy, efficiency and alignment with organisational priorities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB or equivalent).
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in commercial transactions, corporate law or a related legal field.
• Strong knowledge of Australian contract law, commercial regulations and business practices.
• Proven ability to draft, review, negotiate and advise on a broad range of commercial agreements.
• Self‑motivated, capable of working independently in a remote environment.
• Excellent communication skills for collaboration with international teams and non‑legal stakeholders.
