Corporate Counsel – AWS Legal

About the role

Amazon Web Services is seeking a Corporate Counsel to join its Legal Department and support the Sales and Marketing teams across Mexico and Latin America. The role involves negotiating, drafting, and advising on strategic enterprise and technology licensing agreements while addressing regulatory and compliance matters.

Key responsibilities

• Negotiate, draft, and review strategic enterprise and technology licensing agreements for AWS sales and marketing initiatives.
• Provide regulatory and compliance advice for regional operations and marketing campaigns.
• Assist with regional expansion projects and related marketing initiatives.
• Manage legal issues arising from existing commercial relationships.
• Handle pre‑litigation disputes and legal inquiries.
• Participate in broader AWS legal projects and cross‑functional collaborations.

Required profile

• 5+ years of post‑bar admission legal experience.
• JD or foreign equivalent and membership in a state bar (or foreign bar in good standing).
• Fluent business English and Spanish, both written and spoken.
• Inquisitive, enthusiastic about technology, and able to exercise sound judgment in ambiguous situations.
• Strong analytical and solutions‑oriented mindset.
• Excellent project‑management abilities in a fast‑paced environment.

Required skills

• Negotiation and agreement drafting.
• Knowledge of IT infrastructure, outsourcing, telecommunications, and cloud computing services.
• Experience with transactional and technology licensing matters.
