Customs Analyst – Import/Export Compliance

About the role

The Customs Analyst ensures that all import and export activities comply with national and international regulations. You will maintain the customs instruction database, classify products, and support the supply chain in smooth customs operations.

Key responsibilities

• Update and maintain the customs instructions database (tariffs, tax suspensions, preferential origin, customs value).
• Perform product classification (BTI, suspension, preferential origin).
• Prepare import and export documentation (invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, schedules).
• Communicate daily with brokers to guarantee declaration compliance.
• Execute import/export declarations once administrative authorisation is received.
• Validate broker declarations against customs instructions, invoices, transport documents and origin certificates.
• Organise efficient document filing and ensure ERP traceability for customs and accounting.
• Operate customs regimes and authorisations in line with administrative requests.
• Collect, archive and load supplier long‑term declarations into the ERP.
• Report discrepancies, apply Valeo quality tools (PDCA/FTA) and support continuous improvement workshops.
• Assist the supply‑chain team with shipment activities and monitor performance via KPIs.
• Contribute to AEO certification preparation and uphold ethics and compliance policies.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of customs regulations, tariffs and product classification.
• Experience handling import and export documentation and working with customs brokers.
• Ability to work with ERP systems and maintain accurate records.
• Familiarity with quality improvement tools such as PDCA and FTA.
• Attention to detail and ability to report and resolve compliance issues.
