Data Architect

About the role

Slalom is seeking a Data Architect to join its Data Architecture & Engineering team. You will work collaboratively with clients and internal teams to design and deliver innovative, scalable data solutions across leading cloud platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Design and evolve data architectures by assessing current‑state systems and defining future‑state solutions.
• Remain hands‑on with data engineering, building and implementing data pipelines and platforms.
• Balance architectural ownership with day‑to‑day engineering work, guiding technical direction.
• Collaborate closely with clients to translate business needs into effective data engineering and architecture solutions.
• Lead solution design and technical discovery, supporting pre‑sales and proposal activities when required.
• Build solutions on modern cloud data platforms, leveraging data warehousing technologies and distributed processing frameworks.
• Apply AI‑accelerated data engineering approaches, using generative or AI‑enabled tools to improve speed and quality.
• Adapt to project needs, starting in an engineering capacity and progressing to deeper architectural ownership.

Required profile

• Strong hands‑on data engineering experience with the ability to design, build, and maintain production‑grade data solutions.
• Proven data architecture experience, including assessment of existing environments and design of scalable platforms.
• Experience working with Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform.
• Ability to guide technical decisions from design through implementation.
