Data Engineer

About the role

Paylocity is seeking a Data Engineer to design, build, and optimise data pipelines that power both analytical and operational use cases. The role is based in Guadalajara and focuses on large‑scale data infrastructure, ensuring reliable data flow across multiple systems.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, optimise and document ETL/ELT pipelines.
• Guarantee data integrity and security throughout storage and processing layers.
• Work with cloud data‑warehousing technologies to support business intelligence.
• Automate data‑processing tasks to improve efficiency and scalability.
• Collaborate with data scientists and software engineers to integrate data solutions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering or a related field.
• At least 2 years of experience in data engineering or software development.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.

Required skills

• Proficiency in SQL.
• Proficiency in Python.
• Knowledge of data modelling, data governance and distributed computing.
• Experience with cloud data platforms such as AWS Redshift, Snowflake or BigQuery.
• Familiarity with DBT is a strong plus.
