Data Modeler

About the role

As a Data Modeler at Capgemini you will analyse legacy data integration solutions, define enterprise data models and support migration to cloud‑based platforms. You will collaborate with data engineers, architects and business stakeholders to translate existing ETL logic into modern Azure data pipelines.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze and interpret existing SSIS packages, workflows and data transformation processes.
• Reverse engineer legacy ETL jobs to capture business rules, transformation logic, dependencies and data flows.
• Document transformation processes, technical specifications and data lineage clearly.
• Design and maintain conceptual, logical and physical data models based on business and technical requirements.
• Apply industry‑standard modeling methodologies such as Third Normal Form (3NF), star schema and dimensional modeling.
• Develop comprehensive source‑to‑target mapping documents incorporating transformation logic and lineage.
• Collaborate with enterprise architects and data engineering teams to align with target‑state data architectures.
• Provide functional and technical guidance throughout the development lifecycle.
• Conduct data validation between legacy systems and new cloud platforms, ensuring transformation accuracy and data quality.
• Identify, document and support resolution of data quality and reconciliation issues.
• Contribute to data governance, documentation and metadata management initiatives.
