Design Engineer – Automotive

About the role

OPmobility is seeking a Design Engineer to lead the development of exterior and lighting systems for automotive customers. You will be the primary design contact across quotation, development, manufacturing and service phases, working in a fast‑paced environment with tight deadlines.

Key responsibilities

• Create and modify 3D models, drawings and release data using customer CAD standards.
• Act as the interface with suppliers, model shops and customers to ensure optimal design solutions.
• Consider manufacturing and assembly constraints during the design process.
• Attend design meetings, update files and directories, and release drawings/maths to suppliers and customers.
• Support PAE activities such as DFMEA, DVP&R, BOM management and engineering timelines.
• Assist with prototype parts, coordinate with component, material, process and systems groups, and recommend cost‑effective improvements.

Required profile

• Engineering degree (Industrial Design preferred; Mechanical, Automotive or Industrial Engineering acceptable).
• Fluent English.
• 3‑5 years of experience in automotive product design.
• Willingness to travel up to 5% domestically and internationally.

• Catia (mandatory) and experience with SolidWorks, CREO or NX
• Safety or fuel‑system component design (preferred)
• PLM systems such as SAP or TeamCenter (preferred)
