Director, Legal

About the role

As the Director, Legal you will lead Mondelēz International’s legal function across the region, shaping and executing the company’s legal strategy to support commercial and corporate initiatives. You will act as the primary legal advisor, managing risk, guiding business units and ensuring compliance with applicable laws and ethical standards.

Key responsibilities

• Define and implement legal strategies that protect the company’s assets, reputation and people while enabling competitive advantage.
• Provide legal counsel to senior management on operational, regulatory and commercial risks.
• Oversee the selection, management and budgeting of external counsel.
• Lead and develop internal legal teams, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and adoption of new technologies.
• Monitor legislative and regulatory changes across multiple jurisdictions and advise business units on implications.
• Drive labor relations and litigation strategy, ensuring proactive handling of disputes.

Required profile

• Extensive legal experience, preferably within a large, matrixed multinational organization.
• Strong analytical, strategic and decision‑making abilities.
• Proven leadership skills with experience presenting to senior executives.
• High integrity, credibility and the ability to influence at all organizational levels.
