Engineering Project Manager

About the role

The Engineering Project Manager leads the execution of a greenfield engineering project, translating technical objectives into actionable plans and ensuring delivery against the Technical Base Plan. Reporting to the Project Director, the role coordinates cross‑functional teams and oversees all project phases from concept through start‑up.

Key responsibilities

• Own the Project Execution Plan and manage day‑to‑day project delivery.
• Conduct monthly steering‑committee reviews covering scope, cost, schedule and progress.
• Track deliverables, milestones, risks and variances; provide analytical support to senior managers.
• Collaborate with Production, Finance, Supply Chain, HR, Safety and corporate functions to align assumptions and inputs.
• Facilitate CapEx proposal validation, ensuring safety, quality, regulatory and operational readiness.
• Manage cost control, schedule control, change management, procurement strategy and risk management.
• Serve as gatekeeper for procurement processes, PO management, charge‑out and capitalization.
• Coordinate with engineering suppliers, construction firms, OEMs and internal teams.
• Lead internal communications, chair project‑director meetings and escalate issues beyond delegated authority.
• Prepare project documentation, handover packages and final closure reports, including lessons‑learned analysis.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing engineering or greenfield projects end‑to‑end.
• Strong ability to work cross‑functionally with finance, supply chain, production and safety teams.
• Excellent analytical skills for tracking performance, risks and variances.
• Experience overseeing procurement, cost control and change management processes.
• Effective communication and stakeholder‑management capabilities.
