Graphic Designer Intern

About the role

The United Nations Information Centre (UNIC) in Mexico City is looking for a Graphic Designer Intern to support its communications activities. This unpaid, full‑time internship lasts up to six months and offers hands‑on experience in creating visual content for UN campaigns and local outreach.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in developing graphic design plans that align with UN branding guidelines.
• Create multimedia materials such as infographics, videos, GIFs, animations, and web graphics for digital platforms.
• Design printed collateral including brochures, banners, reports, and promotional items.
• Prepare print‑ready dummies and support the production process.
• Perform photo editing and contribute to visual storytelling.
• Research and propose formats for public outreach targeting diverse audiences.
• Support the creation of visual assets for the UN website and social media channels.
• Undertake other tasks as assigned by the Director or National Information Officer.

Required profile

• Enrolled in or completed the final year of a bachelor’s degree, or a graduate program (master’s or Ph.D.).
• Strong interest in graphic design and international communications.
• Ability to work full‑time (35 hours/week) on‑site in Mexico City.
