About the role

The CAD Designer & FEA Specialist will create and maintain 3D models, 2D drawings, and finite element analysis for rubber‑molded sealing products. Reporting to the Application Engineering Manager, you will support product development for automotive, aviation, defence and industrial customers.

Key responsibilities

• Create robust 3D models and detailed 2D drawings of elastomeric sealing components using SolidWorks (expert level).
• Apply Hutchinson dimension rules, ISO/ASME GD&T, and internal dimensioning tools to ensure drawing consistency.
• Translate customer specifications into manufacturable drawings and generate neutral formats (STEP/IGES) for RFQs, prototypes, and production releases.
• Support Engineering Change Requests, manage revision control, and provide CAD data to tooling, process engineering, and suppliers.
• Assist Application Engineering and Quality with APQP deliverables, PPAP submissions, and DFMEA linkage.
• Participate in design reviews, capture minutes, and close action items related to CAD deliverables.

Required profile

• Technical degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, CAD Technology or equivalent.
• Experience in CAD design, CAE simulation and product development.
• Strong background with elastomer products, sealing systems or automotive applications.

Required skills

• Expert proficiency in SolidWorks (surfacing, configurations, drafting).
• CATIA experience (plus).
• Knowledge of elastomer materials (EPDM, NBR, FKM, Silicone) and rubber molding processes (compression, transfer, injection).
• Understanding of ISO/ASME GD&T and basic tolerance stack‑ups.
• Familiarity with APQP, PPAP, DFMEA, process flow and control plan documentation.
• Ability to produce STEP and IGES files.
