Intermediate Architect

About the role

Little Giant Studio is looking for an Intermediate Architect to join its Victoria office and collaborate with the Calgary team. The role focuses on detailed residential projects while supporting commercial and hospitality work.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate consultants on complex projects with minimal supervision.
• Mentor and support junior staff across both Victoria and Calgary offices.
• Develop schematic design concepts using 3D tools, CAD drawings, hand sketches and physical models.
• Prepare client presentations and maintain high‑quality construction documents.
• Conduct building and energy code reviews, and apply wood‑frame and timber construction detailing.
• Lead project work‑plans, invoicing, resourcing and schedule maintenance.
• Serve as primary client contact and lead external coordination meetings.
• Contribute to studio processes, design reviews, continuing education and adoption of innovative technologies.

Required profile

• Proven experience in highly detailed residential design, especially single‑family projects.
• Multi‑family or hospitality (restaurants & hotels) experience considered an asset.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and ability to work collaboratively in a team.
• Pragmatic business sense combined with technical expertise in construction documents and administration.
• Ability to adapt to change and deliver rigorous, detail‑oriented work.
