IT Security Engineer

About the role

The IT Security Engineer will analyze and troubleshoot network security events across the enterprise, ensuring that firewalls, proxies, and other security solutions are optimally configured and performing. This role involves deep investigation of incidents, tuning of security devices, and collaboration with Sec‑Ops management.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, correlate, and report network security events from multiple tools.
• Analyze firewall requests and respond to security incidents from the Service Desk.
• Conduct advanced security incident investigations and event correlation.
• Perform port scanning, vulnerability assessments, and prohibited‑tool identification.
• Execute health checks, tuning, and filtering on assigned security devices.
• Assist with security tool evaluation, implementation, and on‑call duties.
• Support incident response activities and audit participation.
• Mentor security staff and drive continuous improvement through metrics and trend analysis.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems Management, or equivalent.
• 5–7 years of relevant experience or comparable formal training.
• Extensive experience with security technologies and tools.
• Strong knowledge of log analysis, network behavior, and system monitoring.
