Junior Software Engineer (Remote, Mexico)

About the role

MixRank, a data‑intensive company processing petabytes of web‑crawled information for customers such as Google and Amazon, is looking for a Junior Software Engineer to join its fully remote, globally distributed team. This role is ideal for a passionate programmer who enjoys tackling large‑scale technical challenges.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain web applications, data‑mining pipelines, and machine‑learning components.
• Build and improve ETL processes, data models, and database scaling solutions.
• Contribute to infrastructure, DevOps, and deployment automation.
• Collaborate with senior engineers to ship code multiple times per day, with deployments completing in under two minutes.
• Participate in code reviews and help keep the codebase friendly for new contributors.

Required profile

• Strong enthusiasm for programming and big‑data technologies.
• Self‑motivated, able to work independently in a remote environment.
• Interest in learning across the full stack, from backend services to data science.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Python.
• Experience with PostgreSQL, Linux, and Git.
• Familiarity with SQL and JavaScript/TypeScript.
