Lawyer – Maritime, Port & Insurance Law

About the role

Murillo Romero Attorneys is seeking a qualified lawyer to join its Mexico City team. The successful candidate will provide legal advice and representation across maritime, port, insurance, administrative, tax and commercial matters, working in a hybrid environment.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review and negotiate contracts and other legal documents.
• Prepare legal opinions, briefs and memoranda based on statutory and case law research.
• Represent clients before administrative and judicial authorities.
• Manage case files, monitor deadlines and coordinate with external stakeholders.
• Support negotiations, dispute resolution and contribute to the firm’s expansion into new practice areas.

Required profile

• Law degree from an accredited institution and a valid Mexican law license.
• Strong interest in maritime, port and insurance law.
• Excellent research, analytical and drafting abilities.
• Effective communication and negotiation skills with clients, authorities and counterparties.
• Organizational and time‑management capabilities in a fast‑paced environment.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Spanish.
• Working knowledge of English, particularly legal terminology.
