Legal Counsel – Mexico City

About the role

KONE is seeking an experienced Legal Counsel to join its Americas team in Mexico City. You will provide expert legal advice across a broad range of business activities, helping to minimise legal, regulatory and commercial risk while supporting the company’s growth.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review and negotiate contracts covering labor, procurement, construction, sales, service, liability, compliance, distributorships, manufacturing and trade.
• Develop, maintain and update contract templates and standard legal documentation.
• Provide strategic legal advice and risk assessments to business units.
• Develop and implement legal policies and procedures.
• Manage litigation and coordinate with external counsel as needed.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience as an in‑house corporate attorney, law‑firm associate, or a combination of both.
• Law degree from an accredited university and a valid licence to practice law.
• Fluent in Spanish and English.

Required skills

• Strong contract drafting and negotiation abilities.
• Experience with legal risk identification and mitigation.
• Knowledge of corporate, labor, procurement, construction and compliance law.
