Lower Primary Homeroom Teacher

About the role

The Wingate School (TWS), an international school in Mexico City and part of Inspired Education Group, is expanding its teaching team and seeks an experienced Lower Primary Homeroom Teacher to start in August 2027. The school is a Cambridge International School and an IB World School, and the teacher will help build a nurturing, engaging environment that supports students' academic, social and emotional development while laying foundations in literacy, numeracy and essential learning skills.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver differentiated lessons aligned with the school's curriculum and educational philosophy.
• Create a positive, inclusive classroom that encourages curiosity, creativity, independence and a love of learning.
• Develop literacy, numeracy, communication and critical-thinking skills through age-appropriate strategies.
• Monitor, assess and document student progress, using assessment data to inform teaching and give individualised support.
• Foster social and emotional development, promote positive behaviour and respect, and implement classroom management aligned with the School of Character approach.
• Identify individual learning needs and work with learning support specialists on interventions and differentiation.
• Build relationships with students and keep regular contact with parents about progress and wellbeing.
• Collaborate with teachers, teaching assistants and school leadership, integrate technology and creative resources, and take part in school events, extracurriculars and professional development.
• Uphold safeguarding policies and keep a safe, supportive environment.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Primary Education, Elementary Education or a related field, with a recognised teaching qualification.
• Previous teaching experience in Lower Primary, ideally in an international or bilingual school.
• Experience with the Cambridge Primary Curriculum or other internationally recognised curricula is highly desirable.
• Excellent command of written and spoken English.
• Commitment to safeguarding, student wellbeing and continuous professional development.
