Manufacturing Engineer

About the role

Qnity is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join its Reynosa site, supporting the production of advanced electronics. The role focuses on improving manufacturing processes, ensuring product quality, and driving continuous improvement across the plant.

Key responsibilities

• Lead continuous improvement initiatives using Lean and Six Sigma tools to reduce cycle time, scrap, rework, and process variation.
• Analyze production and KPI data (OEE, yield, scrap, downtime) to enhance throughput, stability, and efficiency.
• Support new product introductions by validating manufacturability, tooling readiness, and process capability.
• Develop, maintain, and update manufacturing documentation (Work Instructions, Process Flows, PFMEAs, Control Plans, setup sheets) in line with IATF 16949.
• Conduct process capability studies (Cp/Cpk) and implement corrective actions for out‑of‑spec or unstable processes.
• Lead root cause analysis for internal defects, customer complaints, and audit findings, delivering robust corrective actions.
• Identify and implement low‑cost automation and poka‑yoke solutions to reduce human error and improve quality.
• Collaborate with Quality Engineering to reduce recurring defects, improve yield, and strengthen process robustness.
• Participate in cost‑reduction and scrap‑reduction programs, tracking savings from process, material, and layout improvements.
• Support APQP activities, ensuring special characteristics, customer requirements, and CTQs are properly controlled.

Required profile

• Experience applying Lean and Six Sigma methodologies in a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency in analyzing production metrics such as OEE, yield, scrap, and downtime.
• Background in new product introduction and tooling validation.
• Familiarity with IATF 16949 documentation standards and APQP processes.
• Ability to conduct process capability studies and root cause analyses.
