Manufacturing Engineer – Plant A

About the role

The Manufacturing Engineer will act as a bridge between management and the shop floor, providing technical support for a product line at Plant A. The role focuses on improving production efficiency, quality, safety, and cost through lean initiatives and engineering solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze production trends and metrics with management to develop solutions, programs, and procedures.
• Apply lean manufacturing principles to eliminate paint‑booth bottlenecks, balance paint processes, reduce setup time, increase yield, and optimize space.
• Collaborate with Safety and Health teams to ensure ergonomic and safe design of tooling and fixtures.
• Generate cost‑reduction ideas via process redesign, tooling acquisition, capital equipment, or documentation improvements.
• Oversee product transitions (buy‑vs‑make decisions) and maintain accurate documentation such as Bills of Materials, routers, value‑stream maps, flow charts, drawings, videos, and photos.
• Create engineering deviations or change orders, and manage predictive, preventative, and reactive maintenance programs.
• Supervise capital equipment and small tooling, including programming, calibrating, and adjusting machines as needed.
• Utilize CAD software (AutoCAD, PRO‑E) and other documentation tools to support engineering activities.
• Participate in training program evaluation and ensure compliance with company policies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering.
• At least four years of high‑level experience in manufacturing or engineering.
• Ability to work within a large, global corporate structure.
• Self‑starter with strong problem‑solving skills and a commitment to excellence.
• Fluency in English and Spanish (read, write, speak).
• Advanced proficiency in MS Office, especially PowerPoint.
