Middle School ELA Teacher

About the role

We are seeking a passionate Middle School English Language Arts (ELA) teacher to join our vibrant international school in Mexico City for the upcoming academic year. The role focuses on inspiring students to explore literature, develop strong writing skills, and think critically within a multicultural environment.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deliver inquiry‑based ELA lessons aligned with international standards and IB frameworks.
• Create meaningful learning experiences that foster critical thinking, creativity, and problem‑solving through literature study.
• Differentiate instruction to support English Language Learners and students with diverse learning profiles.
• Assess student progress using formative and summative data, providing constructive feedback and tracking growth.
• Maintain a safe, inclusive classroom where each student can find and use their unique voice.
• Build respectful relationships with students, families, and colleagues, promoting a growth‑mindset culture.
• Collaborate with faculty on curriculum planning, interdisciplinary projects, and school‑wide initiatives.
• Participate in department meetings, professional development, parent conferences, and school events.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in English, Education, or a related field.
• Valid teaching certification.
• Minimum of 2 years of ELA teaching experience, preferably in an international or IB school.
• Ability to thrive in a multicultural setting and appreciation for diverse cultures.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
