Plant Occupational Health Physician

About the role

The Plant Occupational Health Physician is responsible for designing and implementing occupational health programs that promote wellness and prevent disease and injuries among plant employees. This role oversees the medical and nursing services, supports accident investigations, and collaborates with EHS teams to ensure a safe work environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide medical care to employees and coordinate services during major incidents.
• Maintain employee medical records and manage the incident database.
• Lead the plant’s Nursing Service and coordinate health‑safety committee activities.
• Collaborate with department heads to prevent occupational illnesses and injuries.
• Ensure compliance with legal health and hygiene requirements (STPS, SS, IMSS, LFT, etc.).
• Participate in ergonomic analyses to reduce musculoskeletal disorders.
• Oversee medication inventory and cost‑saving projects.
• Deliver training on topics such as nutrition, drug addiction, family planning, and first aid.
• Coordinate entry medical examinations and periodic health evaluations.
• Maintain liaison with social medical institutions (IMSS, SS) for employee assistance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in medicine or related field.
• 5–10 years of experience in occupational health or industrial medicine.
• Fluent English communication skills.
• Strong knowledge of EHS regulations, hazardous material handling, sampling methods, and mathematical analysis.
• Proven project‑management and critical‑thinking abilities.
• Experience developing and delivering large‑audience training.
