Product and Sustaining Engineer

About the role

Dematic is looking for a Product and Sustaining Engineer to join its Product Development group at the Technology Center in Monterrey, Mexico. The role focuses on the design, development, validation and ongoing support of mechatronic industrial machinery serving sectors such as food & beverage, apparel and e‑commerce.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate on mechanical and electrical design of mechatronic products.
• Create and modify 3D models and detailed drawings in Siemens NX for machined, sheet‑metal, plastic and extruded parts.
• Lead the design process from requirements through testing, validation and product release.
• Execute engineering change orders and maintain accurate documentation.
• Support cross‑functional teams including manufacturing, quality, procurement, operations, sales and installation.
• Participate in design reviews, product improvement initiatives and continuous collaboration with project teams.
• Conduct on‑site product validation, testing and reporting of results.
• Apply industry standards such as UL, CE and AWS throughout development.

Required profile

• Proactive engineer with a strong background in mechatronics, mechanical or electrical design.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in mechanical design, verification, validation and sustaining of industrial machinery.
• Ability to work independently in a fast‑paced, multicultural environment.
• Strong problem‑solving mindset and capacity to propose product improvements.
